Vital records must be issued within the last five years, obtained through the office of vital records and certified with a pen in hand signature.
For the certificates of the birth, death and marriage the seal and the signature are sufficient for apostille and they don’t need to be notarized.
Certificates issued by Probate Court need to have handwritten signature because signature stamps are not acceptable. In order to obtain apostilles for school records you need a signed and authorized copy of your diploma or transcript from the office of the school registrar and also a note on the school letterhead acknowledging that the copy is correct.
If you need apostilles issued for corporate records, you need hand signed certified (pen in hand) photocopies issued by Georgia Secretary of State Corporations Division. Copies obtained directly from the Georgia Secretary of state Corporations Division website are not acceptable for apostille.
Documents that have been notarized, such as school records, affidavits or power of attorney, don’t need any supplementary certification stating the commission dates if they follow Georgia’s notary rules including completion of a typed or hand written notarial certificate, pen in hand signature, clear stamp or seal and the correct data of signature present on the document.
